“Post-Twitter” I tried Identi.ca, Plurk, Bloggy and Rejaw, and always came back to Twitter for some reason. Must be the network effects, and the vast ecosystem of supporting products.

“Pre-Twitter”, I just didn’t bother with microblogging, and pretty much dismissed the concept, for what it’s worth.

Twitter caught everyone with their SMS and track capabilities at a time it was crucial to be competitive. No one else offered that. Now that the competition is dead, they can afford to lose those features.
