Question: I haven’t been able to enable Google Gears in my Firefox browser since several updates ago. If I enable Gears, I am unable to load Gmail properly, ending up with a blank screen. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve tried disabling all of my other add-ons, but thus far haven’t been able to pinpoint a specific conflict outside of Gears itself.

I’m sure that Google wouldn’t release a version of Gears that conflicts with it’s own GMail, and I’m sure that many/most/all of you out there are able to use GMail+Gears+Firefox. So, it must be something with my setup.

It’s not a huge deal for me, and I can manage pretty well without the Gears features, but still… I wonder. Any thoughts?

Hi Mark, I’ve Had to disable Google Gears in Firefox myself…. It was making Firefox lock-up on a couple of pages I visit…. No doubt it’s an Extensions issue, but I use loads of them, so I’ve not got the time or inclination to find the culprit!…. I use Google Chrome were a site uses Gears now!…. Cheers.
